About the Ride

The Endurance Ride (ER) is a bike-a-thon to benefit the work of Emmaus Ministries and, new this year, Selah Freedom.

Saturday, June 10, 2017
6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Spend a getaway weekend with us at beautiful La Salle Manor Retreat Center, or just come ride on Saturday.  Start times are at 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

Cyclists ride along the rural roads of Kendall County. The ride begins and ends at La Salle Manor Retreat Center, 12480 Galena Rd, Plano, IL 60545.

Riders may choose a 10-mile course or a 25-mile course, and ride as much as they want between 6 am and 6 pm. The courses take riders on marked streets through Kendall County. Traveling by fields, state park areas, and town roads, the ER is a great event for everyone—serious cyclists as well as casual riders—and is family-friendly.

Riders collect pledges (on a flat rate or a per-mile basis) before the ride. Those 18 and over must raise at least $300 to ride, and those under 18 must raise at least $100 to ride. Our staff can offer tips and tools for this. We are here to help you succeed!

New riders attend a mandatory meeting at 8pm on Friday or 9:15 am on Saturday. This is mandatory for all new Endurance Ride bicyclists and motorcycle SAG volunteers; other Saturday morning volunteers and returning riders are encouraged to attend.

lasalle-drivewayHousing and Meals

Housing is available both Friday and Saturday nights (As Emmaus rents the entire retreat facility, all the rooms are included). Meals are available Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast.

La Salle Manor has individual dorm-style rooms and shared bathrooms. There are some larger rooms that can be set up with mattresses on the floor to accommodate a family. Camping, which has access to bathrooms, is also encouraged.

Housing and meals are included with Rider registration. During Registration, we will ask which night(s) you will be staying at LaSalle Manor, and which meals you plan to join us for. We encourage you to stay both nights!

Housing at La Salle Manor is mostly reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Housing is included for volunteers; you may also choose to camp. Sorry, pets aren’t allowed at La Salle Manor. There are also a number of hotels and bed & breakfasts in the area.

Volunteers receive complimentary meals before, during, and after their shifts.  Additional meals may be purchased (more details in the registration form).

We encourage everyone spending the night on Saturday to join us for our Sunday morning worship service immediately following breakfast.

All sponsorships go directly to help the work of either Emmaus Ministries or Selah Freedom.

Unspecified sponsorships will go toward sponsoring men from Emmaus who ride in the Endurance Ride.
